Welcome to Westside Elementary! I'm Rachel Mader, and I feel privileged to serve as the principal of this incredible elementary school. My goal is to ensure that every student, staff member, and family member experiences a strong sense of belonging and community here at Westside. The dedicated staff at Westside Elementary work tirelessly to meet the needs of every learner, through challenging, meaningful and engaging learning experiences. The community at Westside is the best school family I have ever been a part of, it really is a special place. Westside is a learning community dedicated to developing character and growing together.
Before joining Westside, I've had wonderful experiences in education, including roles as an elementary classroom teacher (2nd and 3rd grade), K-5 interventionist, literacy coach, educational consultant, and graduate facilitator at UW-River Falls. My husband Tyler and I have been married for eight years and are proud parents to three amazing boys: Garrett, Bo, and Connor. We love spending time together reading books, playing games, and being outside gardening, fishing, or going to local parks. I am originally from Lakeville, MN, and my passion for working with children has been lifelong. As the oldest of three siblings, I began babysitting, organizing neighborhood dance recitals, and teaching Sunday School during my teenage years.
