About
Get to know a few of the trees in the School Forest by visiting our School Forest Tree Trek!
A Tree Trek is a self-guided tour through the forest to visit different tree species. Near each tree in the Tree Trek is a flat post with information about that tree species, including its common and scientific name, typical habitat it prefers, and key identifying features such as bark and leaf descriptions. Each post also has a QR code to scan, linking to this website for more information and a map of where to find all of the trees in our Tree Trek.
Tree Treks were created by the University of Minnesota Urban Forestry Outreach & Research as a way to engage people with trees in the parks or forests they frequent.
