The School District of River Falls is led by a seven-member School Board that represents the community's values and serves the district.
The School Board’s primary responsibilities include:
- Envisioning the district's education future and setting goals to achieve that vision;
- Aligning the district's resources and policies to support goal attainment and realize the district's vision;
- Hiring and working closely with the district's superintendent;
- Monitoring the district's academic performance and co-curricular opportunities;
- Engaging the community to keep the public informed about district goals and challenges;
- Advocating for River Falls students and public education.
All School Board responsibilities are carried out in accord with Wisconsin's laws and statutes. School Board members are elected at-large from the community to serve a three-year term. School Board elections are held every spring. For two consecutive years, two seats are open followed by one year with three seats open. On an annual basis, the School Board elects members to the offices of president, vice-president, treasurer, and secretary. All regular School Board meetings are open to the public, with the exception of closed session meetings held in accordance with Wisconsin statute.
Regular meetings are typically held at 6:00 pm on the third Monday of each month. All School Board meetings are posted prior to the meeting to keep the community informed. Regular School Board meetings are also live-streamed. More information on meetings, agendas, minutes, and streams is found here.
The River Falls School Board appreciates productive engagement with community members. Please feel welcome to contact the board with questions, suggestions, ideas, and insights. Emails sent to all board members usually receive a single response from the board's president.
